Home Care: The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award has recently been presented to one of our very own clients Betty Grenig.
Betty has volunteered for over 82 years and given over 4,000 hours of her service to the Red Cross.
She is the oldest and longest volunteer in the Red Cross to date. She started as a teenager knitting socks for the military and has accomplished multiple other tasks along the way including organizing a team to prepare care packages for disaster relief, doing bookkeeping for the nurses, sterilizing medical equipment, volunteering oversees when she followed her husband to Korea and Japan when he was stationed there and has volunteered at Williams and Luke Airforce bases as well.
In August last year, Betty turned an astounding 100 years old making this an even more memorable event. She says it makes her feel good to help others in need especially when they appreciate it.
We are so lucky to have Ms. Grenig as a client and value everything she adds to the community. She is a lovely lady, a joy to be around, and spreads a little sunshine wherever she goes.
Thank you Betty for all of your hard work and dedication to the Red Cross and congratulations on earning the Lifetime Achievement Award. We are overjoyed to be able to celebrate this remarkable occasion with you!
